About Me

I have not always desired to be a teacher. My mom was a teacher and is now the Superintendent of a school system. Growing up as a teacher's daughter I told myself I would never teach. I explored the thought of being a lawyer, accountant, and even an orthodontist. Having a glamorous sounding job with a nice paycheck was my motivation. During my second year of college, I discovered that my heart was not in any of those professions. I began to feel lost because I did not know what my purpose was or what I was supposed to be. I prayed and handed over the reigns to God. That day He revealed to me that I am meant to be a teacher. I am now a Junior at Auburn University studying Early Childhood Education, and I have never been happier. Some of the most important people in my life are my family and my boyfriend. They have shown me an abundance of support and encouragement in this journey. I have observed in many school settings with a diverse group of students, and it has only confirmed my decision to be a teacher. I have realized that this profession is not for the faint hearted. Effective teachers are those who are reflective, passionate, driven, and aware that the job does not end when the bell rings. Teachers have the power to make a real difference in so many lives, and I am ready for the day when it is my turn to make a difference.

My boyfriend and best friend, Dustin. He is a licensed Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic.

My furry best friend and "little baby", Ace.

My dad, mom, me, my sister, and brother. My dad is a farmer and cotton agronomist for Auburn University. My mom is the Superintendent of Geneva County Schools. My sister is a senior in high school, and my brother is a freshman in high school.

This is a group of students that I have worked with. Each time I walk into a classroom, I know it is exactly where I am meant to be. I am more than anxious and excited to have a classroom of my own one day.
